ABOUT

Apple wood __
My landscape has sent me a fallen crabapple log. The lovely wood has been the start of several new pieces including Memory/Apple tree(front page) and two more works yet to be named. I hope to be showing all three this summer. Check shows for exhibition information!

I explore “drawing” with Twig figures. The scale of the found branch dictates the size of the figure produced. Quirky and fun but still a bit fragile. I will keep you posted on my pieces for this series.

The design of each sculpture incorporates the natural beauty and form of the wood, clay and stone. In my ceramic work, a variety of hand building techniques are used, both slab and hand coiling. With wood, the existing shapes and textures often inform the figure that emerges.

It is in cooperation with and respect for the materials of this world that this artwork is produced.
